So, did y’all get out to see “Love, Simon” yet? Maybe you should. And its directed by Greg Berlanti, so you got that going for you. Seriously, that man is non-stop (step aside, Hamilton).

STP: Friday is Death To Prom Day, too!
MPLS: Friday is Death To Prom Day!
We were just honored with the official paperwork that shows Mayor R. T. Rybak has declared Friday, November 15th, as Death To Prom Day in Minneapolis! It sure is fun to have a cool mayor, isn’t it? We’ll see you at the show on Saturday night!
IN Premiere at Indy LGBT Fest

Ricardo Vázquez Wins Ivey Award
The entire production team here at Death To Prom heartily congratulates our lead actor, Ricardo Vázquez, for his recent acting recognition: ‘Ivey’ league material: Park Center grad wins Emerging Artist Award. We’re terribly proud of his accomplishments and know you’ll love seeing his work on the festival screens.
“I just don’t know any other city that would invest in me and I can invest in it and really be challenged and really take these risks,” he said.
His early performances in the Twin Cities included “House of the Spirits” with Mixed Blood Theatre and “Oedipus El Rey” with Teatro del Pueblo and Pangea World Theater. His most recent theatrical performance was in “Lorca in a Green Dress,” also by Teatro del Pueblo and Pangea World Theater.
Vázquez is also a playwright and has done film work as well. He is starring in the film “Death to Prom,” which has its local premier in Minneapolis in November.
Once again, congratulations Ricardo. Keep rocking the local scene!
MN Premiere at Sound Unseen!
We’re very happy to announce that our local Minnesota premiere will be at the Sound Unseen Film Festival held November 13-17th 2013! The team of programmers at SU really got into our fabulous all-local soundtrack, locations, and story so even though we are not a music-film per se, we rocked hard enough to warrant a primetime slot in the festival: Saturday night at 7pm.
Hint hint: There will likely be some sort of party afterwards, so get your tickets as soon as they go on sale on October 18th!
World Premiere at Flyway!
Here we go! Please join us at the 2013 Flyway Film Festival on October 19th for the world premiere of Death To Prom. Tickets are already on sale, buy yours today if you are going to be there.
We’re big fans of this high quality and very filmmaker-friendly festival, so we’re proud to premiere close to home. Festival director Rick Vaicius is somebody you have to meet and the experience is on par with the biggest festivals in the world (ie: great film content, great extras, great connections and mingling, great personalities, great setting… you get the idea).
Hope to see you there!
